Emerald Village Community ClubHouse

The Community ClubHouse at Emerald Village is now complete thanks to a collaborative effort!

The building serves as an extension of the 22 affordable tiny homes at Emerald Village, adding a flexible use space for gatherings and everyday use, a community kitchen for group meals, and laundary facilities. The village is organized as a housing co-operative, so the residents are responsible for managing and maintaing the building.

Construction of the exterior of the building was led by Bineham Construction, Inc. The company donated significant time and materials to the project along with support from New Way Electric, RiverBend Materials, Dynasty Concrete, Insul8, VaproShield, Evoke Flooring from Metropolitan Floors, and Miller Paint.

A neighborhood matching grant from the City of Eugene allowed us to finish the building out out with functional furnishings and stunning new kitchen appliances. As part of this grant, we matched the funding with gifts from the surrounding community. Local businesses provided discounted rates for interior finishes, and Emerald Village residents and supported provided 219 hours of sweat equity towards the effort.

Lightly used solar panels were donated by Allen Hancock of Duma Community, and installed by Solar Assist.

The building design was completed in house by our project director, Andrew Heben, and former project coordinator, Alicia Ginsberg. Structural engineering services were provided by Locke Engineering.

Here's a compilation of photos of the design, build, and finished product:
