We’re thrilled to share that SquareOne Villages has been awarded the 2025 Greenpower Grant from the Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB)—a $50,000 community-funded grant made possible by popular vote from EWEB customers!
This generous award will directly support the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic solar system at Rosa Village Co-op, our upcoming affordable housing cooperative in Eugene currently in the permitting phase and aiming to open in 2027.
Achieving Deep Sustainability at Rosa Village
From day one, Rosa Village has been envisioned as a permanently affordable and environmentally sustainable community. While the solar array will play a key role in reducing reliance on fossil fuels, it’s just one part of a broader commitment to sustainability embedded throughout Rosa Village’s design. The project will achieve Earth Advantage Platinum certification standards for multifamily housing, one of the highest benchmarks for energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and water conservation.

"SquareOne is honored to be selected for EWEB’s 2025 Greenpower Grant. We are committed to making progress on the intertwined issues of housing affordability and climate change."
— Andrew Heben, Executive Director
We’re deeply grateful to EWEB and the Eugene community for believing in this project and voting to fund clean energy at Rosa Village. Thank you to our project team Aligned Architecture, Cultivate, KPFF, Satre Group, Paradigm Engineering, and Dorman Construction for helping build a more sustainable, equitable future!
