Job Title: Village Coordinator at Cottage Village Co-op
Location: Cottage Grove, Oregon
Status: Part-Time (10 hours/week)
SquareOne Village (SOV) develops permanently affordable, resident-managed housing cooperatives. In September we compelted 9 of the 13 tiny homes at our Cottage Village development, and the first households have recently moved-in.
The Cottage Village Co-op (CVC) provides an accessible and sustainable housing option for people with very low-incomes through tiny houses that are safe, livable, and permanently affordable within a stable community setting. Costs are kept low through an emphasis on small-scale development, self-management, and cooperative living. This staff position will work with members of the Cottage Village Co-op and support them in fulfilling the co-op’s essential property management functions, and assist with administrative tasks for SquareOne Villages.

Essential Job Functions:
Assist and advise the Village and its leadership on adherence to and enforcement of the leases, bylaws, and policies and procedures of CVC.
Assist as needed with the facilitation of CVC meetings and committee meetings.
Bookkeeping (provide monthly financial reports to administrative committee; notify membership committee when a member is in arrears).
Coordinate co-op authorized purchases of supplies.
Maintain co-op e-mail, phone, computer and printer, and records
Conduct house move-in/out check-list in coordination with the membership and house & grounds committees.
Coordinate house maintenance and alteration requests
Provide formal written notice of non-compliance with lease and “for cause” terminations.
Serve as or delegate a point of contact for members of the outside community interested in engaging with CVC
Provide reports to SquareOne Villages staff regarding CVC community life.
Assist with other administrative tasks of CVC as needed.
Experience working with those who have been homeless or marginalized.
Demonstrated experience in administrative duties, community relations, and collaboration with multiple local community organizations and initiatives.
Commitment to social justice for people living in poverty, and a thoughtful approach to strategies for achieving it.
Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, and ability to stay neutral and unbiased in approaching interpersonal conflict.
Working knowledge of word processing and data entry software, and Quickbooks
Education: Diploma, B.A. preferred
Lives in Cottage Grove area with access to a reliable vehicle and Oregon driver’s license.
